The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-assigned defenseman Andy Delmore to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced on Tuesday. The club also placed defenseman Adam Foote on Injured Reserve retroactive to Dec. 28 due to a hip injury sustained in that night’s game against the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Foote is eligible to be activated off of Injured Reserve on Jan. 5.
Delmore has appeared in five games with Columbus this season, recording six shots on goal and two penalty minutes with an even plus/minus rating. He has also scored 5-25-30 with 28 penalty minutes in 25 AHL games for Syracuse. Delmore leads the league in power-play assists (19) and tops all AHL defensemen in points.
Foote has recorded 5-4-9 with 45 penalty minutes, one power-play goal and two shorthanded goals in 29 games this season. He ranks T-7th in the league in shorthanded goals and had scored 1-2-3 in his last three games played, prior to missing the past two Blue Jackets contests due to the injury.
The Blue Jackets return to action Thursday (Jan. 5) when they continue a five-game road trip at San Jose. The club then visits the Colorado Avalanche Saturday before wrapping up the road trip at Phoenix on Sunday. The Blue Jackets-Coyotes game will be televised live on FSN Ohio with the Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 7:30 p.m. All three games will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101. The Blue Jackets return home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game time at Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m.
