Columbus Blue Jackets Trim Training Camp Roster 12 Players

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have made their second roster moves of training camp September 25, assigning seven players to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, and releasing five others from their tryout contracts, General Manager Scott Howson announced. The current training camp roster consists of 48 players.

The seven players assigned to Syracuse were: forwards Brian McGuirk, Petr Pohl, Kirill Starkov, John Vigilante and defensemen Trevor Hendrikx, Jon Landry and Dan Smith.

In addition, the club released forwards Erik Felde, Ryan Garlock, John Hughes, Shane Willis and goaltender Ryan Mior.

The Blue Jackets return to preseason action this weekend with a home-and-home set against the Nashville Predators. The two Central Division rivals will face off against each other at Nationwide Arena on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. Game time on Saturday from the Sommet Center is 8 p.m. ET. Both games will broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101 beginning at 8 p.m.
