Columbus Blue Jackets Trim Roster by Two Players

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets trimmed their roster by two players October 4, Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced.

Forwards Ben Guite and Tom Sestito were assigned to the Springfield Falcons, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate.

The Blue Jackets, who are in Sweden for the 2010 NHL Premiere, will travel to take on Malmo Tuesday in an exhibition game against the Swedish Elite League team. Game time from Malmo Arena is set for 1 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast live on Columbus opens regular season play Friday and Saturday with a pair of games against the San Jose Sharks on Friday and Saturday. Game time from Ericsson Globe Arena for both games is set for 9 p.m. ET. Friday's game will broadcast nationally on VERSUS, while Saturday's game will broadcast on the NHL Network. Both games can be heard on the Blue Jackets Radio Network.
