Columbus Blue Jackets to Hold Spring Auditions for 2012-13 Official Promotion Teams

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that the team is currently accepting online applications for the National Hockey League club’s official promotion teams. Consisting of the Pepsi Power Patrol, KIA Ice Crew and Cannon Crew, the promotion teams participate with fans during Blue Jackets games in addition to other various responsibilities. Applications for the promotion teams are due by Monday, May 14 with invitation-only auditions to follow on Saturday, May 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Nationwide Arena. Applications may be found online at

Members of the Pepsi Power Patrol meet and greet guests, solicit fans to participate in various promotions and on-ice contests and distribute prizes during Blue Jackets home games. The Cannon Crew carries the flag with the firing of the Blue Jackets Goal Cannon, rallying fans every time the home team scores. The KIA Ice Crew is responsible for keeping Nationwide Arena’s ice in prime condition during breaks in play and intermissions. Members of the KIA Ice Crew also participate with fans during on-ice contests and must be skilled skaters.

Auditions will be held to select approximately 40 members for the co-ed teams. Candidates for either team should be high spirited, outgoing, athletic, physically fit, comfortable on camera and enjoy interacting with fans. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and must be a high school graduate or hold a GED by September 1, 2012.
