Columbus Blue Jackets Sign Forwards Andrew Joudrey, Nicholas Drazenovic to Two-Way NHL/AHL Contracts

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed centers Andrew Joudrey and Nicholas Drazenovic to two-way National Hockey League-American Hockey League contracts, club Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced July. Joudrey (pronounced JOO-dree) agreed to terms on a two-year deal, while Drazenovic (pronounced DRAY-zehn-oh-vihk) was signed for one year. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Joudrey, 26, has spent the past five years in the Washington Capitals organization. He has registered 42 goals and 61 assists for 103 points with 75 penalty minutes and a +45 plus/minus rating in 279 AHL games with the Hershey Bears. He tallied a career-high 15-19-34, 11 penalty minutes and was +33 in 2009-10, helping the Bears win their second-straight Calder Cup championship. Last year, he notched 7-7-14 and 20 penalty minutes in 66 outings.

Washington's fifth pick, 249th overall, in the 2003 Entry Draft, Joudrey played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin (WCHA) from 2003-07. The Halifax, Nova Scotia native registered 31-62-93 and 52 penalty minutes in 160 career games with the Badgers, including a career-high 9-20-29 and 18 penalty minutes as a senior in 2006-07.

Drazenovic, 24, was St. Louis' sixth pick, 171st overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft. He spent the past four seasons in the Blues organization, making his NHL debut vs. the Nashville Predators on Nov. 11, 2010. He was scoreless in three games with St. Louis and tallied 23-23-46, 24 penalty minutes and was +1 in 75 games with the AHL's Peoria Rivermen in 2010-11. He has registered 73-133-206 and 176 penalty minutes in 266 career AHL games.

A native of Prince George, British Columbia, he played four seasons with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League from 2003-07. He collected 70-90-160, 145 penalty minutes and was +3 in 278 career WHL games. His best season was 2005-06 when he notched a career-high 30-33-63 and 51 penalty minutes in 71 games.
