Columbus Blue Jackets, Roosters Host Viewing Party for Club's Season-Opening Game vs. San Jose Live from Sweden October 8

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets invite fans to celebrate the official start of the team's 10th season by gathering for a viewing party at Roosters (3370 Olentangy River Rd. in Columbus) to watch the Jackets face off against the San Jose Sharks live from Stockholm, Sweden on Friday, Oct. 8 at 3 p.m. ET as part of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere™ and NHL Face-Off™. Roosters will serve as the Blue Jackets' official viewing site for all road games during the 2010-11 season.

The FOX Sports Ohio-Blue Jackets broadcast team of announcer Jeff Rimer and analyst Bill Davidge will join fans for the watch party and offer pre-, post- and in-game analysis. Fans may also register to win assorted prizes including official 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere™ and NHL Face-Off™ merchandise, team autographed merchandise and tickets to the home opener. Other special Blue Jackets personalities, including in-arena host Mike Todd and members of the Pepsi Power Patrol, will also be on hand for the party.

The Blue Jackets continue preseason action on Thursday when they visit the Minnesota Wild. Game time from Xcel Energy Center is 7 p.m. ET. The game can be heard on the Wheeling Island Hotel & Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network on The Fan at 1460 AM and online at The game will also be televised on tape delay on the NHL Network at 11 p.m. Thursday and again on Friday, Oct. 1 at 4 a.m., 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Single-game tickets for all Blue Jackets' regular season games, including the Friday, Oct. 15 home opener vs. the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, are on sale now.
