Columbus Blue Jackets Renew Corporate Partnership with Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Sept. 24 that the National Hockey League franchise has renewed its corporate partnership with Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. The West Virginia gaming and entertainment complex has been a team partner since the 2007-08 season.

The partnership gives Wheeling Island name entitlement on the Blue Jackets' 24-station "Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Radio Network" and media inventory in the form of television spots during Blue Jackets telecasts on FOX Sports Ohio. Other components of the agreement call for in-arena messaging via signage as well as in-arena promotions for select games.

Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack offers 43 table games, 20-table poker room, over 2,000 slot machines, 151-room luxury hotel, the #1 Greyhound Track in the USA (based on purses paid), six restaurants, 1,000-seat showroom, meeting and banquet services and gift shop. Wheeling Island recently won eight first-place "Best of Gaming" Awards by Casino Player Magazine's July 2009 readers poll including Best Casino, Best Reel Slots, Best Video Poker, Best Promotions and Best Service.

The Blue Jackets open the 2009-10 regular season on Saturday, October 3, against the Minnesota Wild.
