COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets placed forwards Andrew Murray and Tomas Kana on injured reserve, Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced October 5.
Murray, who was injured October 1 at Washington, will miss 2-3 weeks with a lower body injury. Kana, who was injured during practice on Sept. 19, will miss 1-2 weeks with a hand injury. Both players were placed on injured reserve retroactive to the dates they were injured.
The Blue Jackets, who are in Sweden for the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere, play an exhibition game at Malmo today. Game time from Malmo Arena is set for 1 p.m. ET. The game will broadcast live on NHL.com.
Columbus opens regular season play Friday and Saturday with a pair of games against the San Jose Sharks on Friday and Saturday. Game time from Ericsson Globe Arena for both games is set for 9 p.m. ET. Friday's game will broadcast nationally on VERSUS, while Saturday’s game will broadcast on the NHL Network. Both games can be heard on the Blue Jackets Radio Network.
