Columbus Blue Jackets Place Forward Fredrik Modin on Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Fredrik Modin on injured reserve retroactive to February 14, club General Manager Scott Howson announced February 17. Modin, who suffered a lower body injury in last Saturday's 5-1 win at Carolina, was evaluated by team physicians from OhioHealth upon the team's return to Columbus and is expected to miss at least one week.

Modin has tallied nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points with 28 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 49 games with Columbus this season. The 12-year NHL veteran has registered 220-221-441 and 413 penalty minutes in 813 career games with the Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Blue Jackets return to action Wednesday when they host the St. Louis Blues. Face-off at Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship station WWCD-FM, CD101 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
