COLUMBUS, OHIO ---The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Markus Hannikainen, goaltender Joonas Korpisalo and defenseman Dean Kukan to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, and recalled goaltender Jeff Zatkoff from Cleveland, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Hannikainen, 24, has registered two goals and two assists for four points with six penalty minutes in 27 games with the Blue Jackets this season and has added 0-2-2 in five games with Cleveland. He has posted 3-3-6 and 12 penalty minutes in 41 career NHL contests with Columbus and 26-33-59, 42 penalty minutes and a +13 plus/minus rating in 112 career AHL games with Lake Erie/Cleveland over the past three campaigns. The Helsinki, Finland native was signed as a free agent by the Blue Jackets in April 2015.
Korpisalo, 23, is 5-4-0 with a 2.85 goals-against average (GAA) and .912 save percentage (SV%) in nine contests with the Blue Jackets in 2017-18. He also is 2-2-1 record with a 1.79 GAA and .944 SV% in five contests with Cleveland in 2017-18, stopping 153-of-162 shots faced. He has gone 28-20-5 with a 2.71 GAA, .915 SV% and one shutout in 55 career NHL games with Columbus and 17-18-6 with a 2.48 GAA, .913 SV% and two shutouts in 42 career AHL games with the Monsters. The native of Pori, Finland was selected by Columbus in the third round, 62nd overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft.
Kukan, 24, made his Blue Jackets season debut on Thursday at Arizona. Selected to play in his first AHL All-Star Classic on January 28-29 in Utica, New York, he has registered 1-14-15 and 20 penalty minutes in 31 games with the Monsters this season. He has a +9 plus/minus rating in nine career NHL games with the Jackets and tallied 8-49-57 and 71 penalty minutes in 136 career AHL games with the Monsters since 2015-16 when he helped the club capture the Calder Cup championship. A native of Volketswil, Switzerland, he was signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent in June 2015.
Zatkoff, 30, is 1-0-1 with a 1.96 GAA, .917 SV% and a shutout in two contests with the Monsters this season. He is 99-82-7 with a 2.45 GAA, .915 SV% and 17 shutouts in 210 career AHL games with the Monsters, Ontario Reign, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Manchester Monarchs since making his pro debut in 2008-09. The Detroit, Michigan native is 18-21-4 with a 2.72 GAA, .908 SV% and a shutout in 48 career NHL games with the Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins from 2013-17. Originally Los Angeles' third round selection, 74th overall, in the 2006 NHL Draft, Zatkoff was acquired from the Kings on January 22 for future considerations.
