COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets invite fans to Nationwide Arena the morning of Saturday, Sept. 18 when the team takes the ice under the direction of new head coach Scott Arniel on the first day of training camp, in partnership with OhioHealth Sports Medicine. The event is free of charge and open to all fans. The first 1,000 guests through the doors will receive an official 2010 Training Camp T-shirt. In addition, fans interested in tickets for the upcoming season can view available seat locations for full season and six-, 10- and 20-game packages. Ticket representatives will be in attendance to answer questions about all available packages.
Doors at the McConnell St. entrance will open at 8:30 a.m. The first group of forwards and defensemen will hit the main ice at 9 a.m. while goaltenders will skate in the Ice Haus beginning at 8:45 a.m. Stinger will be on hand to mingle among the fans and join kids for interactive games on the concourse. Food and beverage concession stands will be open. Fans may also shop in the FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line.
The Blue Jackets play the first of four home preseason games on Wednesday, Sept. 22 as they host the Washington Capitals led by Alexander Ovechkin. Tickets for all preseason games are on sale now and tickets for all regular season games will go on sale Friday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m.
The Blue Jackets will open their 10th NHL season with a pair of games against the San Jose Sharks at Ericcson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 9. The home opener is set for Friday, Oct. 15, when the club hosts the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks. Game time from Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET.
