COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and the Dispatch Media Group are teaming up to present the first-ever "Jackets for Jackets" coat drive to help keep Columbus families warm this winter. Fans are encouraged to help by bringing new or gently used jackets of all sizes to Blue Jackets home games at Nationwide Arena on Saturday, Nov. 24 (vs. Detroit), Monday, Dec. 3 (vs. Dallas), Wednesday, Dec. 5 (vs. Colorado), Saturday, Dec. 8 (vs. Minnesota), Monday, Dec. 10 (vs. Anaheim) and Wednesday, Dec. 12 (vs. Colorado). All jackets collected will be donated to the Salvation Army's "Coats for Columbus" program which will then distribute the cleaned coats to local families in need.
Blue Jackets players' wives and broadcast personalities representing the Dispatch Media Group will be collecting the jackets on designated game nights. All donors will receive a $5 discount coupon for Blue Jackets tickets and a Dispatch Ice Haus skating voucher. For fans unable to make a game-night donation at Nationwide Arena, jackets will also be accepted at the Dispatch Ice Haus and FSN Ohio Blue Line team store locations at Nationwide Arena, the Chiller Ice Rinks and The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.
The Blue Jackets return to action Wednesday when they host the Florida Panthers. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Live coverage on FSN Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
