by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – In support of the National Hockey League's "Hockey for Huggies" program to help collect diapers and monetary donations for moms and babies in need, the Columbus Blue Jackets will host a game-night diaper drive at Nationwide Arena on Friday, Feb. 11 when the Jackets face off against the Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. All diapers collected will be donated to the Mid-Ohio FoodBank which will distribute the diapers to local families in need.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring an unopened pack of diapers or make a cash donation in exchange for a chance to win prizes. Fans can also text "BlueJackets" (or "Columbus" or "Jackets") to 501501 to donate $5 and help diaper babies in central Ohio.

Today, one in three American mothers struggles with diaper need, and have had to cut back on basics – food, utilities such as heat or electricity, or even childcare – in order to provide enough diapers for their babies.* The critical issue of diaper need prompted Huggies to develop Every Little Bottom – an initiative with the single mission to help get diapers to babies in need in the U.S. and Canada. In support of this program, all 30 clubs in the NHL are hosting "Hockey for Huggies" diaper drives throughout the month of February. For more information, visit or
