Columbus Blue Jackets, Giant Eagle Announce Multiyear Renewal of Corporate Partnership

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Giant Eagle announced today the multiyear renewal of the corporate partnership between the National Hockey League club and the multi-format food retailer. Giant Eagle has been affiliated with the Blue Jackets since the team's inaugural season in 2000-01.

Giant Eagle's signature "Turkey Shoot" promotion is set to take place immediately following Saturday's game against the Minnesota Wild. In keeping with the annual tradition, all fans are invited down to ice-level to take a shot on goal for the chance to win a Giant Eagle gift card that can be applied toward a Thanksgiving turkey or other items.

Beyond the "Turkey Shoot," the primary elements of the renewed partnership agreement include a variety of messaging opportunities within Nationwide Arena, the attached Ice Haus practice facility and suburban Chiller Ice Rinks. Presence on the team's radio broadcasts and Web site, BlueJackets.com, are also included.

The partners will also use the continued relationship to showcase the retailer's newest food store, the Kingsdale Market District in suburban Columbus. To view a video preview of Giant Eagle’s newest concept store, go to the Jackets TV-Fan Channel section on BlueJackets.com.

The Blue Jackets return action tomorrow when they host the Minnesota Wild at Nationwide Arena. Live high-definition coverage on FOX Sports Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station 97.1 The Fan, and online at www.BlueJackets.com.

Single-game tickets, starting at $22, are on sale at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, The FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line Team Store at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing, ticket outlets at the Chiller Ice Rinks and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers. Fans can also purchase tickets by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at BlueJackets.com and Ticketmaster.com.
