COLUMBUS, OHIO – In celebration of Hockey Holidays, the Lady Jackets present the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation's Player Favorite Basket Silent Auction and Raffle, a signature event during which the players’ wives and girlfriends put together customized gift baskets filled with a variety of items that reflect the personality and off-ice interests of the individual players. The auction and raffle also feature baskets from the coaching staff, training staff, Stinger and club general manager Scott Howson. The baskets will be available for bidding or raffle during the four home games at Nationwide Arena December 10-17. Proceeds will benefit CHOICES, central Ohio's leading organization addressing domestic violence.
The unique contents of the baskets vary with many featuring gift certificates to favorite restaurants and shops; DVDs of favorite movies or shows; electronics or gaming systems; game and event tickets; autographed memorabilia, and at least one game-used item in each of the player baskets. Other highlights include the following:
-One-hour lesson or team practice conducted by the coaching staff at Nationwide Arena (as a bonus, the session will be captured, edited and presented as a keepsake DVD)
-30-minute skate/youth hockey session at Nationwide Arena hosted by Fedor Tyutin, Antoine Vermette
-Locker room tours guided by players, coaches and trainers
-Multiple gaming stations including Playstation 3, Playstation Move Bundle, Xbox 360 4G, and Wii
-Electronics including Amazon Kindle, NOOK Color tablet, digital cameras and camcorders
-iPod nanos (including one loaded with Grant Clitsome’s favorite workout music)
-Various event tickets including: Frozen Diamond Faceoff hockey game featuring Ohio State vs. Michigan at Progressive Field in Cleveland; OSU Basketball; Indianapolis Colts football; Blake Shelton in concert
-Fitness package including P90X and Insanity training programs, 30-day pass for Pilates Studio of Central Ohio
The baskets will be displayed on the Bud Light Terrace located on the main concourse during home games on Saturday, Dec. 10 (vs. Boston), Tuesday, Dec. 13 (vs. Vancouver), Thursday, Dec. 15 (vs. L.A. Kings) and Saturday, Dec. 17 (vs. Tampa Bay). Some baskets will be offered in a silent auction while several will be available through raffle. Bids and raffle entries will be accepted through the end of the second intermission of the Dec. 17 game. Raffle tickets will be priced at $10.
