Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation Announces Auction of Green, Irish-Themed Player Jerseys in Honor of St. Patrick's Day

COLUMBUS, OHIO – In recognition of St. Patrick's Day, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation will host a special auction featuring a full team set of authentic, green practice jerseys adorned with a Shamrock patch and Irish-themed nameplates unique to each player. The players wore the individually customized jerseys during the March 3 morning skate in preparation for the contest with the Los Angeles Kings that night. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the team's charitable foundation.

Fans may bid on individual practice-worn jerseys at the Blue Jackets Foundation table located behind section 111 during the home games on Thursday, Mar. 12 vs. Pittsburgh and Sunday, Mar. 15 vs. Detroit. All jerseys will have a starting bid of $150 with bids being accepted through the end of the second intermission of the Mar. 15 game.

The Blue Jackets Foundation was founded in March 2000 and has since donated over $2 million dollars to local non-profit organizations dedicated to one or more of its main pillars of giving: pediatric cancer, education, children's health and safety and the development of youth and amateur hockey.
