COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Boehringer Ingelheim have announced a new multi-year partnership. The centerpiece of the partnership is presenting sponsorship of the recently launched Coolest Young Scientist program, an educational initiative that employs hockey-themed curriculum to teach elementary science lessons.
The program rewards fourth-grade science classes from six Columbus Public Schools with a host of Blue Jackets experiences including a school visit from Stinger preceding the class’s field trip to a Blue Jackets home game. During the field trip to Nationwide Arena, all students attend a pre-game chalk talk while two lucky kids are selected to participate in game-night promotions. In addition, all students receive dinner at the game and a Coolest Young Scientist T-shirt.
The partnership also encompasses traditional elements including in-arena signage and messaging.
"We're excited to collaborate with Boehringer Ingelheim to provide a platform for an interactive and entertaining learning experience with the Coolest Young Scientist program," said Cameron Scholvin, Columbus Blue Jackets Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
