Columbus Blue Jackets Assign Goalie Ty Conklin to Syracuse (AHL)

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Ty Conklin to the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. The move puts Columbus' current roster at 27 players.

Conklin signed with the Blue Jackets on July 6 after spending the past five seasons in the Edmonton Oilers organization. He appeared in two preseason games with Columbus and was 0-1-0 with a 4.00 goals-against average and .882 save percentage. In 60 career NHL games, he has posted a 27-19-5 record with a 2.49 goals-against average and .905 save-percentage.

The Blue Jackets begin their sixth NHL season on Friday, October 6 against the Vancouver Canucks. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the arena and be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the start of the pre-game festivities.
