COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today three-year extensions of its partnerships with Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan (WBNS-Radio) and CD102.5 (WWCD-Radio) through the 2018-19 National Hockey League season. Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan will continue to serve as the flagship station of the club's radio network, carrying live all regular season and playoff games with any conflicted games airing on CD102.5.

Preseason games will air live on 97.1 The Fan's sister station, ESPN1460. WBNS-Radio and WWCD-Radio have been the exclusive radio home of Blue Jackets hockey since the inaugural 2000-01 season.

"Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan is the number one source for sports on the radio in Central Ohio and we are excited and proud that the longstanding relationship between the station and our team will continue," said Blue Jackets Vice President of Digital Marketing and Media Marc Gregory. "97.1 and CD102.5 are great partners and share our commitment to growing the game and we look forward to continuing those efforts for many years to come."

"The Blue Jackets have been part of the Fan's programming since day one and we're excited to be able to continue this relationship and to be the voice of the Blue Jackets for Columbus," said WBNS-Radio President and General Manager Dave Van Stone.

"Alternative music and hockey are a natural fit and we are happy to continue our relationship with the Blue Jackets," said CD102.5 Owner and General Manager Randy Malloy. "We are proud to be a radio partner with such a great organization and asset for the city of Columbus."

As part of the agreement, Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan will air pre- and post-game shows surrounding each game broadcast, as well as "The Inside Edge," a weekly one-hour show hosted by Blue Jackets radio play-by-play broadcaster Bob McElligott and former Blue Jacket and current television color analyst Jody Shelley that will air throughout the NHL season.

In addition, the "Blue Jackets Buzz" will continue to provide numerous daily team updates throughout the season on 97.1 The Fan; Jody Shelley will be a featured guest during station shows on game days during the week; and club television play-by-play broadcaster Jeff Rimer will be a weekly guest on "Common Man & T-Bone" throughout the upcoming season.

The Blue Jackets will kick off their 16th NHL season on Thursday, October 13 against the Boston Bruins.
