The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defensemen Marcus Bjork and David Jiricek and forwards Trey Fix-Wolansky and Joona Luoto to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Bjork, 25, has recorded three goals and eight assists for 11 points with 42 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Blue Jackets in his first NHL campaign this season. A native of Umea, Sweden, Bjork has added 6-7-13 with 18 penalty minutes in 41 contests with the Monsters in 2022-23. The 6-4, 211-pound blueliner signed a one-year, entry level contract with the Blue Jackets on May 24, 2022.
Fix-Wolansky, 23, has registered 1-1-2 with 17 shots on goal in 13 career outings with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. He has recorded seven shots on goal in seven games with the team in 2022-23. The Edmonton, Alberta native has totaled 59-78-137, 131 PIM, 22 PPG and 484 shots on goal in 162 career regular season games with the Monsters since making his pro debut in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. He ranks third in the AHL in points/game and fifth in points in 2022-23 with 28-51-69 and 1.21 points/game in 57 contests. The 5-7, 191-pound winger was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
Jiricek, 19, has recorded four shots on goal, five hits and four blocked shots in two games with the Blue Jackets in 2022-23. He became the second youngest defenseman to make his NHL debut in franchise history (Rostislav Klesla; 18-years, 200-days on Oct. 7, 2000 vs. Chicago) when he suited up against Boston on October 28 at 18-years, 334-days. A native of Klatovy, Czechia, Jiricek, who was named to the 2023 AHL All-Star Game (did not play due to illness), leads AHL rookie defensemen in points/game and ranks second in assists and third in points and leads Monsters blueliners in assists, points and points/game with 6-32-38 and .75 points/game in 51 contests in 2022-23. The 6-4, 199-pound blueliner was selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, sixth overall, at the 2022 NHL Draft.
Luoto, 25, has collected 1-0-1 with two penalty minutes in 20 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Winnipeg Jets since making his NHL debut in 2019-20. The 6-3, 201-pound forward has skated in four games with Columbus in 2022-23, making his team debut vs. Florida on April 1 and notching his first career goal at New Jersey on April 6. He has added 16-17-33 and 32 penalty minutes in 73 games with the Monsters and Manitoba Moose over two AHL stints from 2019-23, including 14-11-25 with 10 penalty minutes in 44 appearances with Cleveland this season. A native of Tampere, Finland, Luoto signed a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with Columbus on June 1, 2022.
