Columbus Blue Jackets announce roster moves

Columbus Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced three roster moves today that place the current roster at 26 players, including 15 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders.

The Blue Jackets have placed right wing Emil Bemstrom on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate. Columbus has also assigned goaltender Jet Greaves to Cleveland. In addition, the team also released defenseman Ben Harpur from his professional tryout contract.
The Blue Jackets open their 22nd regular season at the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, October 12. Game time from PNC Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
