The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated Emil Bemstrom off Injured Reserve and assigned the forward to the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The club also has added goaltender Daniil Tarasov to the roster on emergency recall from Cleveland as goaltender Joonas Korpisalo is unavailable for tonight's game at Dallas due to an illness.

Tarasov, 22, has posted a 9-4-2 record with a 3.04 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in 15 games with the Monsters since making his AHL debut at the end of the 2020-21 season. This season, he has gone 5-2-2 with a 2.96 GAA and .897 SV%.
The Novokuznetsk, Russia native went 11-4-3 with a 2.13 GAA, .924 SV% and two shutouts in 18 career appearances with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League from 2018-21. He finished 10th-T in the KHL in SV% and 11th in GAA in 2020-21 after finishing with a 11-3-2 record, 2.07 GAA and .925 SV% in 16 appearances. The 6-6, 196-pound netminder was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round, 86th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft.
Bemstrom, 22, has missed the first 20 games of the 2021-22 season after suffering an oblique strain in practice on October 12. He has recorded 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points with eight penalty minutes, six power play goals and 125 shots on goal in 76 career games since making his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2019-20. A native of Nykoping, Sweden, Bemstrom tallied 3-2-5 in 20 contests with the team in 2020-21. The 6-0, 193-pound winger was drafted by Columbus in the fourth round, 117th overall, in the 2017 NHL Draft.
