Columbus Blue Jackets, Anheuser-Busch Announce Multi-Year Renewal of Corporate Partnership

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced October 11 a renewed multi-year relationship with Anheuser-Busch. As part of the partnership, Anheuser-Busch, an official team sponsor since the inaugural 2000-2001 season, will release a limited edition 24-ounce Bud Light can to celebrate the Blue Jackets 10th season. The commemorative cans will feature the team's official "10th season" logo and may be purchased now at participating grocery and convenient stores in central Ohio.

Anheuser-Busch and the Blue Jackets will also collaborate to institute the Good Sport Program, a comprehensive action plan that promotes a positive atmosphere at the arena by encouraging adult fans to drink responsibly and use a designated driver. Anheuser-Busch will promote the Good Sport program through the use of arena signage, PSAs and an in-stadium designated driver sign-up booth.

"We're thrilled that our long-time partners at Anheuser-Busch have chosen to celebrate this milestone year with our fans by producing commemorative Bud Light cans," said Cameron Scholvin, Blue Jackets Vice President of Business Development. "We also look forward to working with Anheuser-Busch to implement the Good Sport program to help improve the game-day experience for all of our fans."

Additional elements of the partnership include in-arena signage and messaging, rights to in-game promotions and broadcast inventory.

"We are excited to extend our relationship with the Columbus Blue Jackets and join them in celebrating their tenth season," said Mark Wright, vice president of media, sports & entertainment marketing, Anheuser-Busch. "The sponsorship will provide Bud Light unique opportunities to engage Columbus’ adult fans in new ways this season."

The Blue Jackets return to action Friday when they host the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks in the first home game of the club's 10th season. Ticket prices start at $22 and are available at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, The FOX Sports Ohio Blue Line Team Store at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing, ticket outlets at the Chiller Ice Rinks and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers. Fans can also purchase tickets by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at BlueJackets.com and Ticketmaster.com.
