COLUMBUS, OHIO — The Columbus Blue Jackets and Tim Hortons are inviting fans to celebrate a Jackets victory at home with a free donut. The day following a win at Nationwide Arena, fans may show their game ticket at participating central Ohio Tim Hortons stores to receive one free donut with the purchase of a coffee. Tim Hortons is the official coffee of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The season-long promotion begins with the Oct. 17 home opener against the Nashville Predators.
The opening night's game will be highlighted by a tribute to team founder John H. McConnell. Doors will open early at 5:30 p.m., rather than the usual 6 p.m. entry. The pre-game ceremonies will begin promptly at 6:45 p.m. and lead into the puck drop after 7 p.m.
