by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and longtime corporate partner, Dublin, Ohio-based Sunshine Vacations, announced elements of the travel company's expanded corporate partnership with the hockey club. A pair of interactive fan promotions that offer unique Blue Jackets experiences and a contest to win a suite for a special event at Nationwide Arena highlight the enhanced partnership. Sunshine Vacations has been affiliated with the Blue Jackets and Nationwide Arena since 2004.

The "Player for a Day" online contest gives a grand prize winner the chance to sign a one-day contract with a member of the team's front office on Tuesday, March 31 when the Blue Jackets host Nashville. Upon "signing," the winner will receive a personalized Blue Jackets jersey, a $500 signing bonus and four tickets to watch the game in front line seats between the team benches. The complete game day experience also includes the opportunity to watch the Blue Jackets morning skate and the chance to be on the home team's bench during pre-game warm-ups. Player for a Day registration runs now through Mar. 24, 2009 on www.BlueJackets.com.

The "Scoro Shot" contest invites fans to register online for a chance to take a shot for $25,000. Five contestants will each win the opportunity to attend a Blue Jackets game where they will attempt to shoot a puck through a target on net during an intermission. The grand prize of $25,000 will be awarded if a contestant makes the shot. Scoro Shot registration runs now through Mar. 26, 2009 on www.BlueJackets.com.

The third Web-based promotion offers one lucky winner a suite for a Nationwide Arena special event of his/her choosing during a specified time frame. This contest is expected to launch on www.NationwideArena.com in April.

In addition to the new online promotions, Sunshine Vacations will continue to host a kiosk at Nationwide Arena during hockey games and select special events as a vehicle to promote their vacation packages.

The Blue Jackets return to action to host the Ottawa Senators tomorrow. Game time from Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio HD will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
