COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Delaware North Companies Sportservice, the exclusive food and beverage service provider for Nationwide Arena, announced today a joint partnership with Cincinnati-based Montgomery Inn. Starting with Saturday's game against the San Jose Sharks, four arena concession stands and one Montgomery Inn-branded portable cart will offer pulled pork barbeque sandwiches and smoked chicken barbeque sandwiches featuring Montgomery Inn's famous slow-smoked meats and signature barbeque sauce.
Sportservice features Montgomery Inn products at several other major-league sports venues including Great American Ball Park (Cincinnati Reds), Progressive Field (Cleveland Indians), Cleveland Browns Stadium, Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers) and most recently, PETCO Park (San Diego Padres).
Montgomery Inn's presence at Nationwide Arena precedes the expected mid-April grand opening of the company’s new restaurant in Dublin, Ohio. The Dublin location will be Montgomery Inn's fourth restaurant and first outside the Cincinnati area.
Listed by Restaurants & Institutions magazine as the largest independent restaurant featuring barbeque in the country, Montgomery Inn was founded in 1951 in Cincinnati and now features three restaurants and ships 20,000 packages of ribs nationwide each year. More information about Montgomery Inn is available at www.montgomeryinn.com.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Friday when they visit Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game time from Mellon Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio HD will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 7 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
