Columbus Blue Jackets and American Dairy Association Celebrate the Playoffs with School Spirit Contest

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO - In celebration of the Blue Jackets first-ever appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the hockey club and the American Dairy Association are asking central Ohio elementary and middle school classrooms to show off their Blue Jackets spirit for the chance to win a host of unique prizes and opportunities.

In keeping with the American Dairy Association's reminder to enjoy three servings of milk, cheese or yogurt every day for stronger bones and healthier bodies, the contest invites educators and students to submit a class photo demonstrating their Blue Jackets spirit while creatively incorporating "3-A-Day for Dairy."

Educators can submit a digital photo of their classroom to Stinger@BlueJackets.com before the Blue Jackets first home playoff game on Tuesday, April 21. The top four entries will be featured on BlueJackets.com and judged by fans. Following the online voting, the two finalist photos will be displayed on the video scoreboard during the Blue Jackets second home playoff game with fan reaction determining the winner. For photo specifications and further details on how to enter, visit www.BlueJacketsFoundation.org.

The winning classroom will receive a Blue Jackets "3-A-Day for Dairy" School Spirit Street Hockey Party. The prize package is highlighted by a complete set of street hockey equipment for the school to keep, a Blue Jackets t-shirt for each student, a Blue Jackets team-signed jersey and tickets to a Blue Jackets preseason game. In addition, Stinger will visit the school when the students try out the street hockey gear during an instructional session.
