Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Forward Jason Chimera Off Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Jason Chimera off injured reserve, club General Manager Scott Howson announced January 27. Chimera is expected to return to the lineup tonight when the Blue Jackets host the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings.

Chimera, 29, has missed the past 16 games due to injury. He has notched 7-11-18, 31 penalty minutes and is +9 in 31 games this season. In 404 career games, the Edmonton, Alberta native has recorded 72-79-151 and 408 penalty minutes.

The Blue Jackets and Red Wings are set to face-off at Nationwide Arena at 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
