Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Defenseman Rostislav Klesla Off Injured Reserve; Assign Left Wing Alexandre Picard to Syracuse (AHL)

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Rostislav Klesla off injured reserve and assigned left wing Alexandre Picard to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced February 3.

Klesla, 26, has tallied one goal and four assists for five points with 21 penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating, while averaging 21:26 of ice time in 19 games this season. Columbus' first pick, fourth overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft, he has registered 36-75-111 and 439 penalty minutes in 429 career games.

Picard, 23, has collected one assist and 26 penalty minutes in 15 games with the Blue Jackets this season and has recorded 0-2-2 and 48 penalty minutes in 58 career games. In 16 games with the Crunch this season, the Les Saules, Quebec native has collected 2-5-7 and 35 penalty minutes to push his career totals to 35-51-86 and 276 penalty minutes in 159 games.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host their Central Division rival St. Louis Blues. Face-off at Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
