Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Defenseman Mike Commodore Off Injured Reserve; Assign Defenseman Nick Holden to American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Mike Commodore off injured reserve and assigned defenseman Nick Holden to the Springfield Falcons, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced November 5. Commodore, 30, suffered an upper body injury against San Jose on October 9 and missed 10 games due to the injury. In two games this season, he is scoreless with nine penalty minutes. The Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta native has registered 21 goals and 77 assists for 98 points and 610 penalty minutes in 436 career games with New Jersey, Calgary, Carolina, Ottawa and the Blue Jackets.

Holden

Holden, 23, made his NHL debut against Anaheim on October 20 and was scoreless in five games with the Blue Jackets. He has collected one goal and six penalty minutes in six games with the Falcons this season. The St. Albert, Alberta native has registered 11-35-46 and 106 penalty minutes in 136 career AHL games. Prior to his professional career, he notched 30-61-91 and 116 penalty minutes in 137 games with the Western Hockey League's Chilliwack Bruins.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Saturday when they host the Minnesota Wild. Game time from Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET.
