Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Center Manny Malhotra Off Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated center Manny Malhotra off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Scott Howson announced January 2. Malhotra, who has been sidelined since December 19 and missed the past six games, is available to return to the lineup tonight when the Jackets visit the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks.

Malhotra, 27, has appeared in 26 games for the Blue Jackets this season and has recorded five goals and six assists for 11 points with 14 penalty minutes. His 60.0 percent face-off win percentage is tops in the National Hockey League. In 514 career games with the New York Rangers, Dallas Stars and Blue Jackets, he has registered 59-85-144 with 296 penalty minutes.

The Blue Jackets and Ducks meet tonight at Honda Center in Anaheim. Game time is set for 10 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101 beginning at 9:30 p.m.
