Columbus Blue Jackets Activate Center Jiri Novotny Off Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated center Jiri Novotny off injured reserve, Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson announced December 12. Novotny, who has been sidelined since November 23 and missed the past eight games, is available to return to the lineup tonight when the Jackets host the Colorado Avalanche.

Novotny, 24, has recorded four goals and six assists for 10 points with eight penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 22 games this season. The Pelhrimov, Czech Republic native has registered 12-20-32 with 36 penalty minutes in 104 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets and Avalanche will face off at Nationwide Arena tonight at 7 p.m. ET. Coverage on FSN Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
