Before the first shot of the season for the Blue Jackets, there will be plenty of swings.

The annual Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation Golf Classic, presented by Plante Moran, will take place Tuesday at the Double Eagle Club.

Each foursome will be joined by a Blue Jackets player, coach or ambassador in the event, which allows guests a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in a day of golf with their favorite Blue Jackets while playing one of the best courses in the country.

There should be plenty of fun had as well during the pre-round draft. Each foursome will have the opportunity to draft one of the Blue Jackets celebrities, who will play with the group for the round.

For those who can't be at Double Eagle, there will be a silent auction where fans can bid on unique experiences, one-of-a-kind CBJ memorabilia and packages donated by local organizations. To take part, individuals can text CBJAUCTION to 52182 or visit

All proceeds from the Golf Classic will benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation, which is dedicated to the health and wellness of children in central Ohio. The foundation dedicates time, resources and financial support to organizations making a difference in the areas of pediatric cancer, reading, fitness through play and the growth and development of amateur hockey.

Stay tuned to and CBJ social media -- including the Foundation's official Twitter account @CBJFoundation -- throughout Tuesday for sights and sounds from the event.
