Columbus Blue Jackets 2011 Training Camp, presented by OhioHealth, to Mark Debut of OhioHealth Logo Patch on Team's Official Practice Jerseys

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – When the Columbus Blue Jackets open training camp in the OhioHealth Ice Haus this morning, the players will debut a new OhioHealth logo patch on their official practice jerseys. The addition of the patch marks the first time a Blue Jackets sponsor will have presence on the players' practice jerseys.

The introduction of the patch is only one component of a multi-year, multi-faceted Championship level corporate partnership between the hockey club and the Columbus-based family of healthcare organizations. In addition to name entitlement to the team's practice facility and group of suburban Chiller Ice Rinks, OhioHealth is the sole presenting sponsor of the team's training camp. To celebrate the first day of camp on Saturday, OhioHealth will set up a photo booth in the OhioHealth Ice Haus lobby where fans may have a photo taken as a training camp keepsake.

"OhioHealth is the perfect partner to name the Blue Jackets' official practice facility and sponsor our practice sweater," said Cameron Scholvin, Blue Jackets Senior Vice President of Corporate Development. "They are the team behind the team and a critical part of keeping the Jackets healthy and working towards a championship."

Fans are also encouraged to celebrate the start of the season by participating in the Blue Jackets/OhioHealth Training Camp "I Believe" Contest for a chance to win a team-signed practice jersey; four tickets to Opening Night (Oct. 7 vs. Nashville Predators); and a meet & greet with a Blue Jackets player during the season. Fans can enter by CLICKING HERE with a short submission (100 words or less) about why "they believe" in the Blue Jackets this year. The contest runs from Sept. 17-30.

OhioHealth, a team partner since the inaugural 2000-01 season, is the exclusive official healthcare provider of the Columbus Blue Jackets and will also continue to provide the team of physicians and athletic trainers responsible for the medical care of the club's players and related personnel.
