CBJ Will Make Adjustments in Effort to Send Series Back to Detroit for Game 5

by Jeff Rimer / Columbus Blue Jackets

April 23

As Coach Ken Hitchcock stated following this morning's skate at Nationwide, his hockey club will add a few new wrinkles to their game plan tonight in an attempt to extend their Stanley Cup Western Conference Quarterfinal series with the Red Wings.

One likely change is on the top line with R.J. Umberger joining Rick Nash and Antoine Vermette. That said, it appears from the skate this morning that Kristian Huselius at least to start the game will skate with Manny Malhotra and Freddie Modin on the third line.

Jan Hejda did not take part in the morning skate and is likely a game time decision. If he is unable to go it appears Aaron Rome will dress in his place alongside Kris Russell.

Coach Hitchcock in his media briefing stated that he told the players that they don't need special performances tonight... but simply... he needs everyone to give another five percent!

Again, the Jackets coach called for his team to play a full 60-minute game... adding that what everyone has scene from the Wings during the regular season is not the "real" Detroit team... but what everyone sees now from the Red Wings is exactly what they are capable of!
