COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Kevin Stenlund to a three-year Entry Level contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Stenlund, 20, posted 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points with 16 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating in 48 regular season games with HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League this past season. He set career highs in goals, assists, points, plus/minus and games played and finished fifth on the team in goals. He added 4-6-10, six penalty minutes and was +10 in 16 playoff contests to help the club capture the SHL Championship.

The Huddinge, Sweden native has spent the past three seasons with HV71 (SHL), where he posted 15-8-23 with 38 penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating in 108 regular season games and added 5-6-11 and eight penalty minutes in 22 postseason contests. He has also collected 1-3-4 in three career games in the Allsvenskan (Sweden's Second Division) and 25-47-72 with 75 penalty minutes and +17 in 85 career games with HV71 J20 of the SuperElit (Juniors). In 2015-16, he posted 1-1-2 with 20 penalty minutes in 43 games with HV71 (SHL) and registered 5-19-24, 31 penalty minutes and a +11 plus/minus rating in 17 games with HV71 J20 (SuperElit).
Stenlund was selected by the Blue Jackets with the club's second, second round selection, 58th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft. He has represented Sweden in junior international competition in 2014-17, recording 0-3-3 and two penalty minutes in seven games.
