The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Marcus Bjork from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate and assigned defenseman Jake Christiansen to Cleveland, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Bjork, 25, has collected three goals and eight assists for 11 points with 24 penalty minutes and 29 shots, while averaging 19:00 minutes of ice time in 26 games with the Blue Jackets in his first NHL campaign this season. He became the first blueliner in franchise history to record a goal in his NHL debut when he scored on November 12 at the NY Islanders and picked up his first career assist one game later vs. Philadelphia on November 15.
The 6-4, 211-pound native of Umea, Sweden has added 2-5-7 with six penalty minutes and 23 shots in 17 contests with the Monsters in 2022-23. He signed a one-year, entry level contract with the club on May 24, 2022.
Christiansen, 23, has collected 1-2-3 with four penalty minutes and 25 shots in 26 career outings since making his NHL debut with the Blue Jackets in 2021-22. He has registered 0-2-2, four penalty minutes and 21 shots in 18 appearances with the team in 2022-23, including skating in Saturday's contest at Seattle. He made his Columbus season debut at the New York Islanders on November 12 and picked up his first NHL assist vs. Montreal on November 17.
A native of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Christiansen has added 18-54-72 and 61 penalty minutes in 122 career AHL contests with the Monsters and Stockton Heat since making his pro debut in 2019-20. The 6-0, 193-pound defenseman has registered 2-10-12 with 14 penalty minutes and 69 shots in 23 games with the Monsters in 2022-23. He signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Columbus on Mar. 4, 2020.
