The Blue Jackets held an event for their premium season ticket holders after Saturday's home game against Colorado. The event, which gave fans a chance to interact with their favorite players, was presented by Meyers Jewlers and held in the Founders Club at Nationwide Arena.
"I think it’s fantastic. This is the humanized aspect of the game, it’s something where our fans are unbelievably loyal, they’re coming out, they’re spending their hard-earned money and their company’s hard-earned money, and that’s something that we’re so appreciative of," said Blue Jackets VP of Corporate Development A.J. Poole.
"This is a chance for them to meet these people that they’re seeing on the ice and to see the human side. They get to interact with them on a different level and it’s great. It’s always a great night."
The Blue Jackets have put on this event for years as a way to say "thank you" to their premium seating season ticket holders. Over 170 premium seat holders were in attendance for this particular reception. Charles Stapleton was a first-timer among those attending and he came away impressed.
"I think it’s really what sports should be about," Stapleton said. "The players are being role models and community members, and treating the fans right. This is a great example of it. All the kids are so excited to be a part of this and to get the players autographs and to be a part of this event."
