The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing Carson Meyer on Injured Reserve and recalled right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Meyer, 25, suffered an oblique strain in last night's game at Tampa Bay and is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks. He has recorded one goal and two assists for three points with 10 penalty minutes in 26 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. He made his 2022-23 Columbus season debut on November 25 vs. the NY Islanders and has registered four penalty minutes, 16 shots, 22 hits and averaged 9:34 of ice time in 13 contests with the club.
The Powell, Ohio native has added 31-34-65 with 98 PIM, 10 power play goals and 246 shots in 98 career AHL contests with the Monsters since 2020-21. He has collected 6-12-18, 22 PIM, three PPG and was +10 in 15 appearances with Cleveland this season. Selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 179th overall, at the 2017 NHL Draft, the 5-11, 184-pound forward is a graduate of the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets program and played college hockey at Miami University and The Ohio State University from 2016-20.
Fix-Wolansky, 23, has posted 1-1-2 and 11 shots in 10 career outings with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2021-22. He has registered six shots and five hits, while averaging 9:56 of ice time in four games with the team in 2022-23.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Fix-Wolansky has racked up 46-56-102, 113 PIM, 17 PPG and 381 shots in 131 career regular season games with the Monsters since making his pro debut in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. He ranks fourth in the AHL in points/game and 10th-T in goals in 2022-23 and leads the Monsters in goals, assists and points with 15-19-34 and 1.31 points/GP in 26 contests. The 5-7, 191-pound winger was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
