EDITOR'S NOTE: This is our weekly look around the #CBJ community to see what's being talked about, debated, and highlighted by the greatest fans in the National Hockey League. Have a suggestion or submission for next week's edition? Hit up @RobMixer on Twitter and let him know.

Happy Friday, everyone!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I won't remind you how close we're getting to the NHL season. Ok, I lied: we're five weeks away from the Blue Jackets dropping the puck on 2013-14 at Nationwide Arena against the Calgary Flames. Before this gets too cliche, I'll point out that game No. 48 against Nashville last season still feels like yesterday.

Whew, we're good. It's out of my system. Let's get this week's Community Spotlight underway by welcoming Lindsay Wilson to the "blogosphere." She has joined the staff at Union & Blue on the FanSided network. Her first piece is part of the weekly links below.

Before we hit the links (who can resist a quality pun?), I'll take a moment to remind you about Front Street Friday on Sept. 6 on the plaza as well as Blue Jackets FanFest on Sept. 8 at Nationwide Arena. Full details can be found here.

Now, for the linkage:

- It's been almost two weeks, but I know I'm not the only one still watching Skraut's videos from Cannonfest. Elaine Shircliff from Faceoff Violation has the in-sequence highlights from the videos in a recent post.

- Interested in some fantasy NFL action to pass the time? Mark Erickson from has the details on an opportunity exclusively for CBJ fans.

- Speaking of: here's the debut piece from Lindsay Wilson at Union & Blue (and it has to do with the Penguins).

- Mike MacLean from SB Nation's Cannon blog breaks down the Blue Jackets roster for the upcoming Traverse City prospects tournament. Get up to speed before the action starts next week!

- Rick Gethin from checked in with Ryan Johansen and got his expectations (both personally and for the team) as they get set for a new season.
