#CBJ Best of the Web: Sept. 12

by Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

Hockey is back!
Well, at least it is for 23 of the Blue Jackets' best prospects, who will kick off the Traverse City Tournament against a team of prospects from the Minnesota Wild this afternoon.

Meanwhile, in Columbus, there's a chill in the air, and the ice is back in Nationwide Arena. It's almost time, ladies and gentlemen. And as if Friday wasn't great enough already, we've procured some of our finest fan-generated treats from the past week. Here are your links:

First, with training camp just six(!!!) days away, The Cannon looks ahead to the start of training camp–and breaks down the battles for ice time for the forwards and defensemen.

Food and hockey: Two very good things. The Union Blue got to sample some of the new delicacies at NWA (warning: photos of delicious food, will make you hungry).

The folks over at BS Hockey kicked off their long-term GIF goal log project by chronicling last year's playoff series against the Penguins. That's right, sortable GIFs. We're living in the future, people!

BS Hockey also used #FancyStats to examine Scott Hartnell's success in Philadelphia–and his potential impact in Columbus. (Spoiler: It's good news)

Bob showed up to NYC decked out in purple, leading a commenter on /r/bluejackets to create your new computer background.

A few CBJ bloggers were really excited about Thursday's NWA ice installation…
