It's below freezing in Columbus, but the Blue Jackets are red-hot!

The Blue Jackets swept their road trip through Pennsylvania this week, netting a 5-2 win over the Flyers on Tuesday night and then following it up with a 2-1 victory over the Penguins on Thursday night. The Jackets will be on the road for two more games, traveling to Montreal Saturday night and then battling the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. What has the Jackets playing so well? Some would say the play of goaltender Curtis McElhinney, and others would say Brandon Dubinsky's recent hot stretch.

But what were Jackets' fans saying? Let's find out!

McElhinney certainly should get a lot of credit for the team's strong play of late, but according to the Dark Blue Jacket, there's another man on the Blue Jackets' bench who should receive some praise for keeping the puck out of the Jackets' net..

Dubinsky is rolling with goals in four straight games, but equally strong has been line mate Cam Atkinson, whom The Cannon believes must be part of the Jackets' future going forward.

Speaking of the Jackets' future, the Union Blue checks in with their weekly prospects report, where Sonny Milano and Oliver Bjorkstrand continue to give Jackets' fans a lot to be excited about.

Ryan Johansen has been an offensive leader for the Blue Jackets all season long, and The Cannon is wondering if perhaps the young superstar is preparing for an even greater leadership role in Columbus.

Finally, the NHL made some really cool alterations to their stats page this morning when they incorporated some new advanced statistics into their web page. In the spirit of advanced statistics, BS Hockey incorporates some analytics in determining the right fits for finding "depth forwards".
