COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Kyle Quincey from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Dalton Prout, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Quincey, 31, has registered 34 goals and 118 assists for 152 points with 508 penalty minutes, a +12 plus/minus rating and 20:33 Time On Ice average in 548 career NHL games with the Devils, Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings and added 0-8-8 and 38 penalty minutes in 54 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. He has collected 4-8-12, 39 penalty minutes, is +4 and logged 18:38 TOI in 53 games with New Jersey this season.
The 6-2, 216-pound native of Kitchener, Ontario was selected by Detroit in the fourth round, 132nd overall, at the 2003 NHL Draft. He spent parts of three seasons with the Red Wings organization before joining the Kings and setting career highs in assists and points with 4-34-68 in 72 games during the 2008-09 season. He spent the next three seasons in Colorado, including 2009-10 when he set a career high in goals with 6-23-29 in 79 outings. He returned to Detroit during the 2011-12 campaign and spent the next four seasons with the Red Wings. This season was his first with the Devils.

Prout, 26, collected 6-27-33 and 263 penalty minutes in 224 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including 0-3-3 and 14 penalty minutes in 15 games this season. He was selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 154th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
