Manny Malhotra read to a crowd of young people at the Southeast Branch Library in Groveport, OH (3980 S. Hamilton Road) on Monday night.
The Columbus Metropolitan Libraries are teaming up with the Columbus Dispatch and The Columbus Blue Jackets in 2005-06 to present the popular Book Jackets reading program. The Blue Jackets Book Jackets program encourages students in grades K-8 to discover the rewards and joys of reading, while giving them the chance to interact with CBJ players at various, local libraries.
Teachers can sign their individual classrooms up via an enrollment form available through the Blue Jackets. All participants receive a scorecard to keep track of minutes read and a CBJ poster featuring Rich Nash. Once all minutes are recorded and returned to the Blue Jackets, prizes and rewards are given to all participants completing the program, top readers, and top reading classrooms!
Future Book Jackets Celebrity Reading appearances will take place:
Saturday, Dec. 3 (2 pm) at the Gahanna Branch (310 Granville St.)
Tuesday, Jan. 3 (7 pm) at the Hilliard Branch (4772 Cemetary Rd.)
Wednesday, Jan. 25 (7 pm) at the Whetstone Branch (3909 N. High St.)
