Columbus is off to a 2-1-1 start and with a win on Friday vs. Toronto the club would have seven points in their first five games for the first time in club history.

After playing three games in four nights from Oct. 6-9 to open the season, the Blue Jackets are in the midst of a span of one game in 10 days. This weekend’s back-to-back contests vs. Toronto and Pittsburgh begins a stretch where the club plays three in four nights, concluding with a game Monday, October 23 vs. San Jose.

Columbus has converted 8-of-28 power play attempts (28.6 pct./2nd-T in the NHL) through four games compared to 2005-06 when the club was 8-of-82 (9.8 pct.) during the entire month of October. Seven different players have scored on the power play with LW Rick Nash the lone player with two tallies with the man advantage.

RW David Vyborny will play in his 400th career NHL game on Friday vs. Toronto. He is the first player in club history to play in 400 games as a Blue Jacket. He is the club’s all-time scoring leader with 91-142-233 in 399 games.

C Sergei Fedorov, who has missed the club’s first four games due to a shoulder injury suffered during the preseason, could make his season debut this weekend.

RW Nikolai Zherdev scored two goals vs. Phoenix on Oct. 9 in his season debut with the club.

G Fredrik Norrena made his NHL debut at Minnesota on Oct. 14 and stopped 11-of-12 shots in 26 minutes of action in relief of Pascal Leclaire.

RW Anson Carter scored his first goal as a Blue Jacket vs. Phoenix on Oct. 9.
