INDIVIDUAL NOTES

HITCHCOCK TWO WINS SHY OF EXCLUSIVE "500 CLUB": Blue Jackets Head Coach Ken Hitchcock enters the week needing two wins to become the 13th coach in NHL history to record 500 wins as a head coach. With two more wins, he will move into a 12th place tie with Toe Blake on the all-time wins list. His head coaching career began with the Dallas Stars on Jan. 8, 1996 and he picked up his first win with a 6-4 decision at Vancouver on Jan. 22, 1996. Hitchcock has compiled a 498-337-122 record in 957 games with the Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers and Stars. He has compiled a 90-88-22 mark in 200 games with Columbus.

HE'S BAAAACK: Rookie G Steve Mason returned to the lineup last weekend after missing three games due to a bout with mononucleosis and stopped 58-of-61 shots in back-to-back wins over Detroit and Carolina. Mason made 32 saves in a 3-2 home win over the Red Wings and 24 hours later took a shutout into the third period before settling for a 26-save performance in a 5-1 win at Carolina. He improved his record to 21-12-2 with a 2.06 goals-against average, .925 save percentage and seven shutouts in 36 games. He leads the NHL in GAA and shutouts, ranks fourth (tied) in save percentage and 10th (tied) in wins.

RICK NASH THE PLAYMAKER: LW Rick Nash, who leads the Jackets in goals with 23 and is on his way to leading the club in that category for the fifth-straight season, also leads the club in assists this season with 28. He tied his career high with three assists at Carolina on Feb. 14 and is just three shy of matching his single season high of 31 set in 2007-08. He has collected 8-14-22 in his last 18 games to raise his season totals to 23-28-51 in 52 games.

HUSELIUS PICKS UP FIFTH MULTI-POINT GAME IN SIX WEEKS: After registering three multi-point games in his first 36 games as a Blue Jacket, LW Kristian Huselius has five in his last 16 outings after notching 2-1-3 at Carolina on Feb. 14. Since a five-game points drought from Dec. 6-14, he has been shutout in back-to-back games just three times.
