NASH WINS GOLD WITH TEAM CANADA AT 2010 OLYMPIC GAMES
Captain RW Rick Nash helped Team Canada win a gold medal at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, becoming the second Blue Jackets player to earn an Olympic medal (David Vyborny – Czech Republic, bronze in 2006) and the first to earn gold. In seven games during the tournament, Nash tallied 2-3-5 and was +1. He was second among Team Canada forwards in ice time with 110:22 (Sidney Crosby, 118:34) and third on the club in shots on goal with 24 (Crosby and Patrick Marleau – 28).
BLUE JACKETS AT 2010 OLYMPICS - RECAP
Nash was one of six Blue Jackets who competed at the 2010 Olympics, joining LW Fredrik Modin and C Samuel Pahlsson (Sweden); D Jan Hejda (Czech Republic); D Fedor Tyutin (Russia); and D Milan Jurcina (Slovakia). Here is a look at how each fared at the tournament: Modin (0-1-1, even in three games), Pahlsson (0-1-1, 2 PIM, even in three games) as Sweden went 3-1-0 and lost to Slovakia in the quarterfinals… Hejda (0-0-0, 4 PIM, +4 in five games) as Czech Republic went 3-2-0 and lost to Finland in the quarterfinals… Tyutin (0-2-2, 2 PIM, +1 in four games) as Russia went 2-2-0 and lost to Canada in the quarterfinals… Jurcina (0-0-0, 2 PIM, -1 in seven games) as Slovakia went 4-3-0 and lost to Finland in the bronze medal game.
BLUE JACKETS HAVE REBOUNDED FROM HOLIDAY SEASON TO FORGET
After enduring a stretch that saw the club post a 3-14-7 mark from Nov. 21 to Jan. 5, the Blue Jackets have posted a 10-8-1 record in their last 19 games and come out of the Olympic break having gone 4-2-1 in their last seven games, including a 3-1-1 mark under interim head coach Claude Noel. Columbus has gone 7-4-3 in its last 14 games at Nationwide Arena, including 3-1-1 in its current six-game homestand, after posting a 2-4-1 mark in the previous seven outings.
NASH BRINGS SEVEN-GAME POINT SCORING STREAK INTO POST-BREAK ACTION
RW Rick Nash is riding a seven-game points streak (4-3-7), which is the longest by a Blue Jackets player this season. The previous long was six games by Nash from Oct. 5-20 (4-7-11). The streak is two shy of the club record of nine, shared by Nash (9-7-16 from Dec. 30, 2005-Jan. 16, 2006) and Andrew Cassels (4-9-13 from Nov 1-17, 2002). Nash leads the Jackets in goals and points and ranks second in assists with 28-29-57 in 63 games. He is two goals shy of registering his fifth 30-goal season in the past six and third in a row.
MASON REGAINS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR FORM
Last year's NHL rookie of the year G Steve Mason has gone 5-3-0 with a 2.13 goals-against average, .936 save percentage and two shutouts in his last eight games dating back to Jan. 21. He has stopped 220-of-237 shots during that span and posted back-to-back shutouts vs. Buffalo (28 saves in a 4-0 win) and San Jose (40 saves in 3-0 win) on Feb. 6 and 10.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY JERSEY AUCTION RETURNS
In recognition of St. Patrick's Day, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation will host a special auction featuring a full team set of authentic, green practice jerseys adorned with a Shamrock patch and Irish-themed nameplates unique to each player (McNash, McUmberger, O'Dorsett, etc…). The players will wear the individually customized jerseys during pre-game warm-ups prior to Tuesday's game vs. Vancouver. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the team's charitable foundation. Last year's jersey auction raised more than $17,000 for the cause.
