Jan. 11, 2003 – The Blue Jackets matched a franchise record by scoring five consecutive goals after falling behind 1-0 at Calgary to take a 5-1 lead into the third period en route to a 7-2 win over the Flames. Sean Pronger, Andrew Cassels, Grant Marshall, Rick Nash and David Vyborny each tallied a goal for the Blue Jackets before Lasse Pirjeta scored a pair in the third period.

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Jan. 4 – at Phoenix 4, Columbus 2:
The Blue Jackets rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game at 2-2 on goals by R.J. Umberger and Jakub Voracek only to see Shane Doan and Vernon Fiddler score twice in a span of 52 seconds midway through the third period to lift the Coyotes to the win… Jan. 7 – at Anaheim 6, Columbus 0: The Ducks got two goals each from Teemu Selanne and Bobby Ryan and 27 saves from Jonas Hiller to earn their first win in three games vs. Columbus this season. Anaheim was 3-of-4 on the power play, while the Jackets went 0-of-3… Jan. 8 – at Los Angeles 6, Columbus 4: Trailing 4-0 early in the second period, the Jackets twice cut the Kings lead to one goal at 4-3 and 5-4 before Justin Williams’ empty net goal sealed the win for Los Angeles. Rick Nash scored twice for the Jackets, while Jarret Stoll added a pair of goals for the Kings.

TEAM NEWS & NOTES
The Blue Jackets will be looking for the 300th win in franchise history on Tuesday vs. Phoenix… Columbus has won its last two home games and is 5-2-0 at Nationwide Arena in its last seven… After ending the calendar year 2010 with three consecutive wins, the Blue Jackets are looking to halt a four-game losing streak in 2011… This weekend’s home-and-home set vs. Detroit marks the 10th time Columbus has played back-to-back games this season and the Jackets are 2-6-1 in first games and 6-3-0 in second games… The club is 16-7-3 in games decided by two goals or less, including 11-4-3 in one-goal games… The Jackets are 18-3-0 when tied or leading heading into the third period, including 11-0-0 when ahead after two periods… Columbus is 6-3-0 in overtime/shootout games, including 3-1 in shootouts compared to 5-15 (OT/SO) and 2-10 (SO) marks a year ago.

CALVERT MAKES NHL DEBUT
LW Matt Calvert was recalled by the Blue Jackets from Springfield (AHL) on Jan. 6 and made his NHL debut the following night at Anaheim. After firing off one shot and collecting two penalty minutes in 10:41 of ice time vs. the Ducks, he scored his first career NHL goal and tallied two shots in 12:33 of action on Jan. 8 at Los Angeles. Columbus' fifth pick, 127th overall, in the 2008 Entry Draft, Calvert is the second Blue Jacket to make his NHL debut with the club this season (Nick Holden).

NASH REGAINS GOAL FORM, REMAINS AMONG NHL LEADERS
LW/RW Rick Nash scored a pair of goals at Los Angeles on Jan. 8 to give him 3-5-8 in his last seven games and raise his season totals to 20-14-34 in 41 games, marking the seventh-straight season he has hit the 20-goal mark. He ranks among NHL leaders in goals (eighth-T), game-winning goals (5, fourth-T) and shots on goal (166, eighth). His two-goal game vs. the Kings was his fifth multi-goal game of the season – and 39th of his career, including five hat tricks – and snapped a stretch in which he was held to 1-6-7 in his previous 12 outings.

PLAYER NOTES
C Antoine Vermette picked up an assist in his 500th career NHL game at Los Angeles on Jan. 8 to raise his career totals to 123-145-268 with 283 PIM and a +20 plus/minus rating… He ranks 11th in the NHL in face-off winning percentage (56.9 pct.) and is third among players who have taken at least 700 this season. His 770 draws taken is the eighth-highest total in the league… RW Jakub Voracek played in his 200th career NHL game at Anaheim on Jan. 7 and picked up 0-2-2 the following night at Los Angeles to raise his season totals to 8-17-25 in 40 games (tied for team lead in assists) and career marks to 33-80-113 in 201 games… LW R.J. Umberger has collected 6-3-9 in his last 12 games and ranks second on the club in goals and points with 14-25-29 in 42 outings… D Fedor Tyutin has collected 3-5-8 in his last 16 games after being held to 0-3-3 in his first 24 outings this season.

FOURTH ALUMNI NIGHT FEATURING TYLER WRIGHT SET FOR FRIDAY
The Blue Jackets' fourth Alumni Night of their 10th Season, presented by AAA Ohio, is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 14 when the team hosts the Detroit Red Wings and welcomes back Tyler Wright. The club’s current development coach, he was selected by Columbus in the 2000 Expansion Draft. He tallied 57-51-108 and added 436 penalty minutes in 309 games as a Blue Jacket from 2000-06 and was the first player in club history to record two hat tricks in the same season (2002-03). Wright will drop the ceremonial first puck prior to the game and sign autographs for fans after the game’s conclusion on the Nationwide Arena concourse. In addition, all fans in attendance will receive a 10th season Blue Jackets scarf courtesy of AAA Ohio.

NASH, MOREAU AND BOLL TO SERVE AS CELEBRITY BARTENDERS ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT
Blue Jackets players Rick Nash, Jared Boll and Ethan Moreau will serve as celebrity bartenders at the R-Bar in the Arena District on Wednesday night from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. as part of the ANHEUSER BUSCH CELEBRITY BARTENDING series. Proceeds from the event, which begins at 7 p.m, benefit the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation.
