Blue Jackets in the Western Conference Standings: With 61 points in 58 games, Columbus stands in third place in the Central Division and 10th in the Western Conference. The Blue Jackets currently trail eighth place Nashville by three points and are six points behind fifth place Anaheim in the conference standings.

Jackets Earn Points in Four Games Last Week; Hit 60-Point Mark: The Jackets went 1-0-3 last week, earning five of a possible eight points to top the 60-point mark at the earliest point in any of their seven NHL seasons. The club earned point no. 60 in a 3-2 OT loss at San Jose in its 57th game on Feb. 8. The earliest the club hit the mark prior to this season was Mar. 7, 2007 in its 67th game.

Road Play Continues to Improve: Columbus earned three of a possible four points in a pair of road games last week – 2-1 win at Phoenix on Feb. 7, 2-1 OTL at San Jose on Feb. 8 – to improve to 3-1-1 in its last five road games and 4-3-1 in its last eight. The Blue Jackets play eight of their next 10 games on the road, including five-straight from Feb. 15-23.

Vs. Nash, Zherdev Continue to Battle For Points Lead: LW Rick Nash and RW Nikolai Zherdev continue to battle for the top spot among Blue Jackets scorers. Nash tallied 3-0-3 in four games last week to raise his season totals to 29-17-46 in 56 games. He leads the club in goals and ranks second in points to Zherdev, who has tallied 7-7-14 in his last 15 games to raise his season totals to 22-25-47 in 58 games.

Chimera Signs Four-Year Contract Extension: The Blue Jackets signed LW Jason Chimera to a four-year contract extension last week. Chimera has picked up 6-2-8 in his last 15 games, scoring goals in four of his last seven to raise his season totals to 11-14-25 in 58 games. He has also played in a franchise-record 220 consecutive games since Oct. 9, 2005.

Miscellaneous Notes: D Dick Tarnstrom made his Blue Jackets debut vs. Los Angeles on Feb. 10 and collected an assist in 18:07 of action… C Michael Peca has collected 0-5-5 in his last six games… G Fredrik Norrena went 1-0-1 with a 1.48 goals-against average and .939 save percentage in two starts last week, stopping 46-of-49 shots faced… RW David Vyborny is two assists shy of becoming the first player in Blue Jackets history to record 200 assists with the club.

Feb. 27 vs. San Jose: Willie O'Ree Night – Fans can celebrate the 50th anniversary of hockey legend Willie O'Ree becoming the first player of color to play in the NHL. O'Ree, who made history on Jan. 18, 1958 when he suited up for the Boston Bruins in a game against Montreal, will be on hand when the Jackets host the Sharks at Nationwide Arena.
