*Jackets in December: The Blue Jackets are 2-1-1 so far in December… The club plays 11-of-14 games at Nationwide Arena this month and is in the midst of a five-game homestand (1-1-1)… The best December in franchise history came in 2006 when the Jackets posted their first winning record in the month at 9-5-2 (previous best, 5-6-3-1 in 2000).

*Standings Update: With 31 points in 29 games, Columbus is four points out of second place in the Western Conference standings and two points behind second place St. Louis in the Central Division… Columbus has gone 4-3-1 in its last eight games after a 1-5-2 stretch from Nov. 7-21.

*Vs. This Week's Opponents: Anaheim – Columbus is 13-10-3 all-time vs. the Ducks, including 8-5-0 at home… The Blue Jackets won 4-0 at home on Oct. 5, while Anaheim won 2-1 in a shootout on Nov. 1… Columbus' win on opening night halted a three-game home losing streak against the Ducks… Colorado – Columbus is 3-21-2 all-time vs. the Avalanche, including 2-10-1 at home… The Jackets earned a come-from-behind 5-4 win on Dec. 5 to post its first win over the Avs at Nationwide Arena since Feb. 28, 2004 (5-4, OT)… Colorado won the first meeting this season 5-1 on Oct. 13… Boston – The Blue Jackets are 3-3-0 all-time vs. the Bruins, including 1-1-0 on the road… The Jackets won the last meeting between the two teams 5-4 in overtime on Dec. 26, 2006… This is the first meeting between the teams in Boston since a 7-2 Bruins win on Jan. 18, 2003… Columbus won its first game at Boston 5-1 on Nov. 10, 2001.


*All-Star Voting Update: LW Rick Nash and G Pascal Leclaire are among the players on the Western Conference ballot in the XM/NHL All-Star Fan Balloting, Presented by 2K Sports. As of voting through Dec. 5, Leclaire ranked seventh overall and second among goaltenders in the Western Conference with 116,747 votes (Vancouver's Roberto Luongo, 121,008), while Nash stood eighth among forwards with 69,242 votes (Detroit's Henrik Zetterberg, 175,270). Voting opened on Nov. 13 and continues through Jan. 2. For the second consecutive season, the balloting process is entirely digital and extends through Jan. 2. Fans can "Vote Now, Vote Often" online at to select the starting lineups for the 2008 NHL All-Star Game. In addition, U.S. fans also can cast votes through Verizon Wireless cell phones.

*RW Nikolai Zherdev has registered 6-5-11 in his past 11 games to raise his season totals to 11-11-22 in 29 games… He has scored a goal in four-consecutive games heading into Monday's contest vs. Anaheim (team record: 7 by Geoff Sanderson from Nov. 5-17, 2002). He has already surpassed his goal total from 2006-07 (10-22-32 in 71 games).

*After picking up just one win in his first nine appearances this season, G Fredrik Norrena has won his last two games. He made 33 saves in a 4-3 OT win at Calgary on Dec. 1 and stopped 10-of-11 shots in the third period to earn the win over Colorado on Dec. 5. He is 3-5-3 with a 2.58 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 12 games this season.

*C Kris Beech collected a career-high 0-3-3 vs. Colorado on Dec. 5 and has tallied 1-4-5 in four games in December.

*With 18-13-31 in 29 games, LW Rick Nash is on pace to register 47-40-87 in 82 games which would mark new career highs in all three categories (41goals/2003-04; 30 assists/2006-07; 57 points/2003-04 and 2006-07).

*Head Coach Ken Hitchcock is one win shy of his 450th as an NHL head coach. The NHL's winningest coach since 1996, he owns a 449-289-110 record in 848 games.



JACKETS "CELEBRATE THE 12 GAMES OF CHRISTMAS": In keeping with the spirit of the holidays, the Blue Jackets are celebrating the "12 Games of Christmas" with a host of promotions for the 12 home games between Nov. 24 and Dec. 31. Highlights of the "12 Games of Christmas" include: Dec. 23 vs. Nashville – Post-game "Meet the Team" autograph session presented by Nationwide; Dec. 26 vs. Atlanta – Annual FSN Ohio White Out T-shirt Night as all fans receive a Blue Jackets T-shirt courtesy of FSN Ohio; and Dec. 31 vs. Edmonton – The first 10,000 fans attending the New Year's Eve contest against Edmonton will take home the 2007-08 Columbus Blue Jackets Yearbook.
